What is on it
Who to call in the first hour, the first day and the first week.
Names, numbers and what each person is for. Your spouse or partner, the eldest child, the executor named in the will, the lawyer, the family doctor, the employer, the closest neighbor, and a line for clergy if that is your house. The page is ordered by when each call would be made, not by how important the person is, because on the day those are different things.
Print it, fill it in with a pen, and put it where the other person in the house would look first. Then tell them it is there.
Why it is free
Because it is the best page to judge the book by. If page one is useful, the other eleven sections are laid out the same way and cost $34. If it is not, you have spent ten minutes and your family has a page it should have anyway.
We ask for an email address so that we can send the page to you and, over the following fortnight, a few short notes about filling it in. One click unsubscribes. Your address is never passed on, and the page itself is stamped with it, so the copy is plainly yours.
Nothing you write comes back to us
The page is a PDF on your own machine and a sheet of paper in your own house. Nothing typed or written on it is sent anywhere. The only thing we hold is the address you asked us to send it to.
